Un adjetivo describe alguna cualidad, para preguntar si alguien o algo posee esa cualidad usamos: Verbo to be + sujeto + adjetivo?
- Am I tall? (¿Soy alto?)
- Is + (he, she, it) + adjetivo?
- Is he tall? (¿Él es alto?)
- Are + (you, we, they) + adjetivo?
- Are they tall? (¿Ellos son altos?)
Ejemplos:
- Is he tall? Yes, he is. (¿Él es alto? Sí)
- Is she short? No, she isn’t. She is tall. (¿Ella es baja? No)
- Is he rich? No, he isn’t. He is poor. (¿Él es rico? No. Él es pobre)
- Is your brother thin? Yes, he is. (¿Tu hermano es delgado? Sí)
- Is Frida married or single? She is single. (¿Frida está casada o soltera? Es soltera)
- Dad, tell me about Santa Claus. Is he young? No, he isn’t. He is very old. (Papá, cuéntame sobre Santa Claus. ¿Es joven? No. Él es muy viejo)
- Is he handsome? No, he isn’t. He is ugly. (¿Es él guapo? No. Él es feo)
- Is your cousin pretty? Yes, she is. (¿Tu prima es bonita? Sí)
- Is your teacher young or old? She is old. (¿Tu maestra es joven o mayor? Ella es mayor)
- Is your car new or old? It’s new. (¿Tu automóvil es nuevo o viejo? Es nuevo)
- Is your homework easy or difficult? It’s easy. (¿Tu tarea es fácil o difícil? Es fácil)
- Tell me about your sister. Is he single? Yes, she is single. (Háblame de tu hermana, ¿es soltera? Si, es soltera)
