Las preguntas en presente continuo o presente progresivo (present continuous tense) se forman escribiendo el verbo to be antes del sujeto, y el verbo principal después del sujeto con la terminación -ing:
- Am I working…? (¿Yo estoy trabajando?)
- Are you working…? (¿Tú estás trabajando?)
- Is he working…? (¿Él está trabajando?)
- Is she working…? (¿Ella está trabajando?)
- Is it working…? (¿Eso está trabajando?)
- Are you working…? (¿Usted está trabajando?)
- Are we working…? (¿Nosotros estamos trabajando?)
- Are they working…? (¿Ellos están trabajando?)
Se usa para indicar una acción que sucede en el momento.

- Is she reading the newspaper in the living room? (¿Ella está leyendo el periódico en la sala?)
- Are you working very hard? (¿Tú estás trabajando muy duro?)
- Are they playing in the park? (¿Ellos están jugando en el parque?)
- Is she doing the work of two people? (¿Ella está haciendo el trabajo de dos personas?)
- Is he speaking German? (¿Él está hablando alemán?)
- Is the plane leaving the airport? (¿El avión está saliendo del aeropuerto?)
- Is he playing in the park? (¿Él está jugando en el parque?)
