Ejemplos oraciones con said y told (say y tell) en inglés y español

Usamos say (decir) para citas textuales:

• She said, “I’m vey happy”. (Ella dice, “Estoy muy feliz”)

También podemos usar say (decir) para citas no textuales siempre que no se menciona a la persona que habla:

• She said that she was very happy. (Ella dijo que estaba muy feliz)

Usamos tell (decir) para citas no textuales cuando se menciona a la persona que habla:

• She tell me that she was very happy. (Ella me dijo que estaba muy feliz)

Si usamos say y mencionamos a la persona que habla debemos escribir say + to + object pronoun (me, you, him, her, it, us, them):

• She said to me, “I’m very happy” (Ella me dijo, “Estoy muy feliz”)

Hay que recordar que el pasado de say: said. Y el pasado de tell: told.

Ejemplos con say (citas textuales):

1. My uncle said, “I am going to Florida”. (Mi tío dijo, “Voy a Florida”)
2. My cousin said, “I am too tired”. (Mi primo dijo, “Estoy muy cansado”)

5. She said, “I want to kiss him”. (Ella dijo, “Quiero besarlo”)

8. He said, “I can not go to the party with her”. (Él dijo, “No puedo ir a la fiesta con ella”)
