Para expresar que queremos o gustamos más de alguien o algo usamos would rather o su contracción ‘d rather. Se traduce como el verbo preferir.
Ejemplos sin contracción:
- She would rather read the newspaper in the afternoon than in the morning. (Ella prefiere leer el periódico en la tarde en lugar de en la mañana )
- We would rather come to school by bus than walk. (Nosotros preferimos venir a la escuela en autobús en vez de caminar)
- She would rather sit in the sun. (Ella prefiere sentarse en el sol)
- He would rather walk to school. (Él prefiere caminar para ir a la escuela)
- Mr. Green would rather work with my uncle. (El Sr. Green prefiere trabajar con mi tío)
- They would rather play tennis on Sundays than on Saturdays. (Ellos prefieren jugar tenis los domingos en lugar de los sábados)
- He would rather study for his English class than for his math class. (Él prefiere estudiar para su clase de inglés en lugar de su clase de matemáticas)
- She would rather attend church on Mondays than on Fridays. (Ella prefiere ir a la iglesia los lunes en lugar de los viernes)
- We would rather go to the movies than watch T.V. (Nosotros preferimos ir al cine en lugar de ver la televisión)
- She would rather play the piano than the violin. (Ella prefiere tocar el piano en lugar del violín)
