El futuro continuo (future continuous tense) se forma escribiendo will be antes del verbo con terminación -ing, esta terminación corresponde al gerundio. Las contracciones se usan frecuentemente:
- I’ll be working (I will be working)
- You’ll be working (You will be working)
- He’ll be working (He will be working)
- She’ll be working (She will be working)
- It’ll be working (It will be working)
- We’ll be working (We will be working)
- You’ll be working (You will be working)
- They’ll be working (They will be working).
El futuro continuo se usa para expresar que una acción sucede mientras otra también.
Ejemplos sin contracción:
- If you come before lunch, she will be reading the newspaper. (Si vienes antes del almuerzo, ella estará leyendo el periódico)
- You will be working very hard tomorrow morning. (Tú estarás trabajando muy duro mañana por la mañana)
- Tomorrow afternoon at this time, he will be teaching mathematics. (Mañana por la tarde a esta hora, él estará enseñando matemáticas)
- At this time next year, he will be living in Boston. (Para estas fechas el año que viene, él estará viviendo en Boston)
- At this time next year, he will be speaking German. (Para estas fechas el año que viene, él estará hablando alemán)
- We will be eating lunch at noon. (Nosotros estaremos comiendo el almuerzo al mediodía)
- Don’t call him at five o’clock, he will be having his dance lesson. (No lo llames a las 5, él estará tomando su lección de baile)
- She will be waiting for him on the corner. (Ella lo estará esperando en la esquina)
- We will be practicing guitar when you get back. (Nosotros estaremos practicando con la guitarra cuando vuelvas)
- I think, it will be raining in a few minutes. (Creo, que estará lloviendo en unos minutos)
